Chelsea Outbid by Man City – Robinho Heads to Manchester
It’s been confirmed that Manchester City have outbid Chelsea FC for the rights to sign Brazilian winger Robinho. The deal, which is said to be worth £32.5m, comes as quite a surprise when considering the seemingly endless pockets Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has. With Dubai’s UAE taking a majority stock holding in Manchester City FC, there seems to be a new bigshot in England.
Chelsea were almost certain they would sign the Brazilian star, even going so far as selling Chelsea kits with Robinho’s name on it. Roman was outbid, and now must scramble to fill in the gaps he would have hoped to fill with Robinho.
Robinho will bring with him blistering pace and goal scoring accuracy. He played for Real Madrid 101 times, scoring 25 goals.
